I'm in the same building as Jerry. The city is currently doing a lot of surfacing and trenching work on Haight Street (1 block away) and their published plans include underground fiber conduit. Does Sonic have a plan to be able to make use of this? Any chance that underground fiber on Haight can be connected to aboveground connections to make it to our building?

according to prior similar projects around the city, the fiber was not for residential use. They are probably for Muni and/or dark fiber.

Another couple of years have gone by on this thread and it looks like still nothing happening in the Haight (fillmore/hayes), but I'd sure love to be wrong. Dane please help us!
AT&T have been persistently flyering this neighborhood with door tags advertising AT&T Fiber, but if you actually contact them, they don't offer it. Looks like maybe they're just checking for interest?
10/1mbps dsl is really depressing in 2021. We have monkeybrains too, but they're utterly unreliable and borderline unusable with 10+ hour outages every couple of weeks.
Last year some guys in an unmarked truck came and ran fiber down our block, but then quit and left the spool hanging down from the pole with the cable end hacked right off, and it's still there!
