Saw several sonic fiber trucks in Windsor (95492) on Starr Road getting ready to trench what looked like Fiber...are we finally getting it?

I'm curious about this myself. My Sonic DSL has been flaky lately with speeds all over the place. I have been chomping at the bit for fiber to be installed here. I absolutely HATE Comcast but might have to get in bed with them due to increasing bandwidth requirements in our household. I'd happily hold out if I knew fiber was definitely coming to my neighborhood in Windsor.

I saw the trucks also and would like to know if they mean fiber service is on the near horizon?

Our current build in Windsor is for a single anchor tenant, plus we'll build to all of the businesses in the business park on Conde Ln. We'll do custom builds off that plant for other businesses or public entities, and the anchor build can help us with future backbone for residential services, but we do not currently have residential plans incorporated in this project.

If Sonic has no plans for fiber for residential Windsor then why should we help Sonic with its fight against AT&T by writing the FCC? By the way.. The Sonic FCC letter format requires Sonic sign my name instead of doing it myself. What's that about? They can then sign my name to anything they want to send the FCC?

We have plans to build fiber everywhere. I think of it like a snowball, building in size and viability as we roll forward. We must start where the costs are lowest and the demand is highest, then build on that success. If we are successful in areas like Albany and San Francisco where utilities are aerial, areas like Windsor where utilities are underground will become viable.

In regards to the letter to the FCC, the PDF that is submitted gets the same name from the top (where the address is) placed at the bottom. See examples of what the final submissions look like, here:

Thank you for your response and the link you provided regarding the FCC letters. I will submit a letter of support. It would seem a long shot since all the power is in the hands of AT&T and the current leadership at the FCC who will conspire together to kill the little guys and line their own pockets with bigger profits.

That’s certainly a reasonable view, but we have thrived for 24 years despite the scale of our competitors.
