I am not having success trying to configure a nexuslink 5631 for a static ip. I found one set of howto instructions at http://www.beusergroup.co.uk/technotes/ ... sLink_5631, and followed them, but when I attempted to save the configuration, I got an error message that the vci/vpi cannot be used more than once. I have also found viewtopic.php?f=10&t=361&p=2138&hilit=5 ... c+ip#p2138, and would like to get a similar setup. Would someone be willing to provide a cookbook (screen shots not really necessary) about how to get a static ip working with this equipment? Thanks.

Sorry there isn't much in the way of docs, I'd suggest contacting support.

When I first set up static IP on my 5631, support was able to walk me through the process.

It sounds like (to get the vpi/vci error) you added a WAN interface instead of editing the existing one.

First, make sure that your Sonic.net Fusion service is set up for a static IP, here https://members.sonic.net/connections/fusion/ip_setup/ Then, what kind of setup do you want - do you want the Comtrend device to take the static ip and be your router, or do you want to expose a device behind it, and have that device (like a server for instance) take the ip? In the former you want to set up for MER with a static ip, in the latter, you want the comtrend to be a bridge and the device behind it will need to be configured for the static ip.

I've updated the Comtrend page with instructions for bridging the device, or for setting it up to use a static ip: https://wiki.sonic.net/wiki/Comtrend_Nexuslink_5631
