I actually have a valid (non-uVerse) AT&T land-line phone number. (POTS, not VOIP.) If I go ahead and order Sonic Internet and voice, will this disrupt my current phone service in any way (before I start the porting process)? I have had this land-line number for many years and I do not want to lose it.

I ask because I’m getting the message “We're sorry, but we were unable to verify xxx-xxx-xxxx a valid (non-uVerse) AT&T land-line phone number for the address.” This is a very similar situation to what was described in https://forums.sonic.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5171 .

To avoid disruption you would want to set a number forward to the temporary Sonic number before your installation is set to occur.
