So the cable is too short, so spray painting doesn't help.

It is the yellow cable with green connector, much thinner than a cat5 cable, so I don't think it is cat5e. I think it is SC/pca?

Can you email in a picture of it to Support so I can get a better idea of the situation? You can put "Attn: Mike N." in the subject to make sure it reaches me.

Seems Sonic doesn't want you to move the ONT. But if you did, this looks like it might work...
