I need to be able to change my password on an ongoing basis because people that come over to my house and use the wifi seem to think it is okay to use it when they leave my house and it bogs down my wifi to the point of being frustrating. Any other directions or solutions are welcomed.
You might consider using QoS or WiFi vouchers for this. Not knowing what WiFi router you have, check and see if it supports QoS by MAC address. In basic terms this would allow you to prioritize bandwidth for your own devices based on their MAC address which, as you say, are bogged down by other users.
Another option would be to setup a guest network/vlan that you can create and distribute WiFi vouchers for. You pick and choose who gets them, for how long they have WiFi access, etc. ~$100-$200 in Ubiquiti hardware (a UniFi Cloud Key
or an old dedicated PC running 24/7 + a UniFi AP AC Lite
) would give you what you need to implement this... Easy tutorial on setting up vouchers here
Or you can just keep changing WiFi passwords over and over
