**UPDATE**Re: New customer - completely satisfied

I'm not sure what the brand of phone is. I just replaced it with a brand new cordless and plugged the cordless into another jack, not the same as the modem is plugged in to. And so far, all is well.

It is worth noting that the set-up instructions for the ADSL modem I was sent leave a bit to be desired. Apparently it isn't necessary to use all three filters as the splitter already has one built in. The filters can bog down the connection speed as does an older phone.

Thanks for that. Guess that's the problem with these cheapo phones.

I think what Dane was referring to was to change the subject in your opening thread. ;)

I don't know how to edit the thread topic...

I haven't tried myself, but I would guess if you view the first message in the thread, there may be an edit button. But, that might only apply if you were and are logged in.

Mind if I edit?

I think its better this way.
When I check out a service its not the happy ones I want to read. Its the bad reviews (or what looks like its going to be a bad review)

We have lots of happy customers posting. Seeing one that says completely disappointed will draw in exactly the people you want to read the happy ending. :)

Yah, I just get sad every time I get an email that there's an update in the thread. =)

Of course, some people will only count the number of +/- topics. Perhaps a subject along the lines of "Disappointed at first, but redeemed" will cover both bases?
