I'm having trouble setting my Pace 5268AC into Bridge Mode.

When I go to 192.168.1.254 --> Settings --> Broadband --> Link Configuration I see no Routing section per the wiki: https://wiki.sonic.net/wiki/File:5268ac-bridged.png

I've attached a screenshot of what my interface looks like.

Is this behavior expected? I desperately want to put this device into bridge mode. Thanks in advance.

Hello - is this a 5268AC that was supplied for an FTTN connection? Unfortunately the firmware on AT&T-supplied modems does not have an option for bridging the connection. While not ideal, DMZ+ mode should be available on this device as a potential alternative.

Yes, this is a 5268AC that was supplied for a FTTN connection.

Ah rats. I was afraid that might be the case. Frankly, unbelievable and arguably unacceptable on AT&T's part.

Thanks for the info.

Out of curiosity, do you know if this is an issue with ALL AT&T provided hardware? Or just this particular model? Would it be possible for me to call AT&T and see if they could provide me a different modem/router that was able to be put in bridge mode?

Also, that reply above by "Guest" was me-- I evidently didn't login again before I posted my first reply.

This is a limitation of all AT&T provided hardware using the Uverse infrastructure, as the way the IP is assigned requires the modem itself to receive the IP.

Oh. Okay. That makes sense, then. Thanks for the quick responses, Mike. I appreciate it.

I wanted to document the steps and settings to allow a VPN gateway router behind the ATT UVERSE Pace 5268AC.
Many thanks to David Walker for his post on spiceworks.

1) configure your router's wan port to DHCP
2) Plug the wan port in to a LAN on the PACE.
3) log into the PACE Select: Settings->Firewall-> Applications, Pinholes and DMZ
4) Under "Select Computer", Select your router
5) at the bottom of the page select " Allow all applications (DMZplus mode)", save your settings
6) Navigate to Settings->Firewall->Advanced Settings
7) Type the access code found on the side of the unit.
8) The next step will effectively disable the firewall capabilities of the PACE so don't connect anything but a router(s) with firewalls to the PACE.
9) uncheck all of the "Advanced Security" options (Stealth Mode, Block Ping, Strict UDP Session Control)
check all of the "Outbound Protocol Control, Checking the box ALLOWS the associated traffic type through the firewall"
uncheck all of the "Attack Detection" settings.
Save.
Now the PACE will allow everything through to your router.
The local router will need to use a dynamic DNS service (I use FreeDNS)
My local router is a Cisco RV120 and the remote router is a Cisco RV320.
The RV120(local router) is configured as Aggressive mode and local identifier as FQDN
The RV320 (main office/ remote router) "Remote Group Setup" is configured as Dynamic IP + Domain Name (FQDN)
Hope this helps.

This method works with the exception of the nameservers --

For whatever reason, the 5268 doesn't correctly convey the nameservers to your router, so you'll be able to ping external IPs (i.e. 8.8.8.8 or 172.217.6.36), but won't be able to access URLs. To fix this, I manually declared the name servers in my router config. I haven't had to do this for a DHCP config before, but everything worked as expected afterwards.

I followed the detailed instructions to Disable the U-Verse/Pace 5268AC's Firewall on the connection to my Linksys AC900 Dual Band Gigabit Router. Am still having issues connecting and signing in to Yahoo Mail. The 5268AC does NOT play nice with our Linksys.

My best friend, on the other hand, has an older Netgear personal Router connected to his 5268AC on U-Verse and has NO issues getting to Yahoo Mail. For everything else; however, everything works going through our Linksys. Can surf anywhere, can bring up GMail and Hushmail, can stream YouTube Videos; EVERYTHING works EXCEPT Yahoo Mail.

Our workaround is having my parents' computers, (via WiFi connection), change Networks away from the Linksys, and connect directly to the 5268AC. THEN we can get to Yahoo Mail.

When we try via the Linksys, all we get is the Blue Spinning Wheel in the Firefox Tab. Usually this ends with a Time Out Error.

YMMV
