I just got my new static IP setup on my Mac (thanks to Dexter via phone support).

My question is, what's a recommended way to connect to my Mac remotely? I'd just like to be able to view files on my Mac, install updates, reboot, etc.

Depending on your security and other factors, check into VNC. Several companies distribute it, some of which are free.

I really like LogMeIn. You don't have to configure any firewall settings, and it's free. It doesn't actually require a static IP, but overall I find it to be a useful program/service.
