Hey There,
I was hoping someone could clarify some things in regards to the fusion speeds, on the site http://www.sonic.net/solutions/home/internet/fusion/ it states broadband speed up to 20MBPS ($39.95) I currently use an apple airport, and/or a Netgear ADSL 2 modem depending if I'm using my laptop or PC (I don't use a router) (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/NETGEAR+-+B ... cp=1&lp=13) I live in Santa Rosa (95404) When I signed up it stated that I was roughly 9000 feet or so from the nearest station.
When running a speed test my results are usually consistent with 2.64MBPS down, and 0.86 up
The sonic site says speeds up to 20MBPS, I realize that I won't get speeds like that, but 2.64 seems pretty low?

"Up To 20MBPS" means that is the maximum you will see, provided you're really close to the Central Office. As you go further from the CO, the speed will drop. At 9000 feet or so, the speed should drop to somewhere around 5 or 6 MBPS, given perfect conditions. See the scatter chart that Dane posted some time ago on DSLReports:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r255689 ... ut-6-Mbps-

As they say, YMMV. If you think you're getting speeds slower than what the scatter chart shows, which it looks like you are, give support a ring at 611 from your Fusion line and see what they can do for you.
