Hi all,

Anyone using the connected by TCP lighting system (http://www.tcpwireless.com/index.php?ma ... ducts_id=3)

Having a hard time getting it set-up. TCP customer service said it may be a firewall issue.

Anyone have a step-by-step guide.

Thanks

Hi There,

Could you tell me what type of router you are using? If you are seeing a RED light on WAN indicator, it would suggest that the router you are using is not allowing outbound traffic to port 49494.

In order to achieve this, you would need to turn OFF firewall settings or somehow ensure that the Router can allow ONLY outbound traffic to port 49494. This has no security issues.

If you are specifically using an Comcast Arris router, you need to set your firewall settings to low. Once you do that and reboot (turn OFF and ON power to the Gateway), you will see after 2 minutes that there will be no RED indicators on the Gateway. You should then be able to access the Gateway both locally inside the house and remotely (after you successfully set up a Remote Access account through your local app).

Let me know if you are able to do this.

Cheers,
Shanker
