Yeah, well.... I'm getting to the point I don't know if I can keep paying to "subsidize" the rest of you (to quote what someone else commented in a prior post in this thread).

"'Fusion Broadband - STI-0044744-4' price change effective on 2023-03-20 (Current Price: 69.99, New Price: 79.99)"

All-in, my monthly outlay is now just over $100/month for 18M/2M bonded ADSL2+ (Yes, I'm in a really sad situation right now here in the middle of Silicon Valley -- pure irony.)

I need to find a better option at this point since Sonic.net hasn't solved the two-fold problem of fiber service and then that last (literal) 100 yards from street to our condo.

Att has periodically a promo on cash back via cards and not contracts but the promo price if I remember is a yr only but I heard you can do it with different members in house.

Cons:
Waiting for cash back card at times it was not even applied.

Installation/device fee for modem.

Btw does anyone know when the $30 government broadband credit will end?

@Sonic, customer communications could have been handled better here.

Late to the party and just got my first increased bill for the ATT-via-Sonic Gbps service. There was a buried notification of a price change on my previous bill, which I hadn't noticed until finding this thread.

The price increase is compounded by California state increases in voice surcharges, which further increase the monthly charge. The increase affects all customers, including those who don't use the VoIP service (my ATA has been on a shelf, unopened, since I received it).

Still less expensive than buying direct from ATT, at least after the first year.

The ACP is supposed to be a long-term program to help ensure affordable internet access. While this isn't a guarantee it'll last forever, it's not something that's expected to go away anytime soon. We have some information available here.

Hold up, I'm paying 95/m (~120/m after modem/ata rental, taxes, fees) for
Fusion IP Broadband Residential FX3

Am I getting gouged? Why is my rate so much higher than others? I'm going to email them to see if I can get a lower rate.

I still haven’t seen anyone from Sonic address the main point of this thread: the absolutely sketchy way these price increases were rolled out. The silence is telling.

This price list was across the board - we live in an area where fiber is not available and we have to settle for the legacy 20MBps AT&T DSL service. The March '23 price increase sent the service, with junk fees (including $9.50 per mo for renting the ancient Pace modem), over $97 per month. We've been a customer for about 15 years and even though we love Sonic for their customer service, local presence, lack of caps, and privacy policies, this is just too expensive when compared to the competition.

Hopefully there will be faster non-rebranded-AT&T service available in our area eventually.

Yep, I'm about to call tomorrow to start the process of stopping my service. My bill has increased over $22 since December, 2022. I've been a customer for less than 1.5 years!

New customers are getting a price of $59.99 for better service (plus the phone tax of course). I've had multiple occasions where my Internet was dodgy as well so it's a big byeeeee to Sonic.

Hello!

To speak frankly, AT&T gouged us on the price of that service. The amount we make off of it is like. maybe $10? I would suggest that if AT&T can provide you with a cheaper rate I would go for that. Hopefully, we will have Sonic Fiber 10 gig there sometime in the future.

Best Wishes!
