SmartRG SR515AC Port 8080 outbound

When I go to http://<public_ip>:8080 on my browser I see a URL served by my SR515AC is delivered "
https://smartrg.sonic.net/prime-home/co ... n?<omitted>"
Is there a way to turn off this port hijacking? If so, how?

Hello!
This port is open to allow us to troubleshoot with our customers and access their Pace5268 remotely when trouble shooting. Hopefully this clears why this port is open.

You don't do that over https?
If you control the network end to end it may be acceptable. Or maybe it redirects?
