Hello,

I recently pre-signed up, and pre-paid $40, for service at my home in Oakland. When I signed up and gave my credit card, I took it as an article of faith that I'd soon get a clearer picture of when service might be ready at my address, and that "months" would hopefully be just a few months and not many months. I haven't seen any information yet clarifying how long I might have to wait. Is there a way I can get a status update?

Thanks,
Zach

As a pre-order member, we'll be sending you monthly updates on construction and progress in your area. Our Oakland Fiber build outs are in the very early stages so the first update hasn't been sent out yet. These updates will let you know what phase of the project we are currently working on and when we move onto a new phase. Its impossible to estimate when Fiber will be available due to the many factors that impact our ability to complete these phases. Since this build out is so new, it will be many months before Fiber will be available for installation.

This week we did activate our first new Oakland fiber distribution area, so it's in motion now!

We'll be sending out updates to those who have placed pre-orders, and to current customers who we'll transition to fiber when it's completed in their area.

That sounds great. I'm looking forward to the update. Mostly I'm just trying to gauge what ballpark we're talking about regarding "months." Less than a year? Half a year? Two years? We can wait a bit, but only up to a point, and it would be nice to know what order of magnitude we're looking at.

We just received an email this past week with an estimate of this spring/summer. In addition, just yesterday afternoon there was a contractor outside of our house running messenger wire. Very excited! :D

My own latest update email said "summer to winter" which I parsed as meaning "not this coming spring". I understand the desire not to make commitments which cannot be kept, but that is so vague I don't know what to do with it.

Got our first email update. Says "summer to winter" as well. Bella Vista neighborhood.

We completely understand how the somewhat open nature of the timeline we are giving is hard to work with, we are very keen on avoiding making commitments that we cannot keep.

There are obstacles that can present themselves that can delay things by wildly varying amounts. Keep an eye on those emails, while vague now as the project moves towards completion they'll narrow down.

I'm in Adams Point and curious about the roll out for here. I will start working from home in the coming months and my current connection is not strong enough to sustain the bandwidth I'll need. I was told to come on the forums and see what's going on. I'd rather NOT leave Sonic...but I might have to

Hi, We are by Piedmont Ave and while I appreciate that many factors can affect the roll outz its been honestly too long. Any update would be appreciated. Thanks.
