Possible fiber install in Pleasanton. Sonic to provide service?

Hello,

In my neighborhood in Pleasanton there is active installation of new underground cabling, on all streets, under the sidewalk. The rumor among the neighbors is that it is fiber being installed. A third party construction company is doing the install, so not sure who is behind it. Hopefully it is fiber!!

If fiber is being installed, will Sonic be able to provide service through that new fiber? Or, will service limited to the installer, be it ATT, Verizon, etc?

It’d likely be limited to whoever built the network. And could just be cellular backhaul or something. Do ask the supervisor on the job who they are working for, or inquire with the city.
