Trying to find out if we can upgrade from Fusion X1 to X2?
What hardware (modem, router) is compatible?

Also, Sonic may wany to reconsider the X2 product name, since this forum platform considers the search term "X2" too short and plainly ignores it. So we customers cannot find X2 support in this form.

Piggy backing on this to ask the same question; I'd opened up a ticket to inquire about the same upgrade late last week. Haven't heard back yet; but I'm supposing they are busy and probably also running at reduced staff.

Thanks for any help/info you can provide!

Thanks for bringing up this issue about searching for X2 services on the forums. We are unable to change the name of the service but we will look into making "X2" a searchable topic.

Hesse it appears that Fusion DSL X2 services are available at your location and I will be reaching out to you later today with more information. To answer your hardware question the X2 service requires a "Bonded" modem that can do ADSL2+. We can provide a rental unit if needed which costs $9.50/mo.

Brycem we will be reaching out later today as well about your upgrade inquiry.

If you have any further questions please let us know and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Stay safe,

I just started a similar thread since I couldn't search for this one... Haha... how ironic. I should have paged farther into the forum.

Any of the OPs here answer the original inquiry as to what modems are compatible? ADSL equipment is pretty rare in the market these days, other than stuff you find on eBay and such.

I am on Fusion X1 for now, but would like to go to X2 if I can locate a compatible modem. I do not wish to rent a Sonic-provided modem. $10/month adds up fast over the years.

Any existing customers, or Sonic Support, what is the rental make/model of modem/router in use?

Thank you!
