I understand that with the July upgrade I will have to pay $6.25 per month to rent a modem. That's $75 per year. Last October I had internet problemss. You told me that it was my modum.. I bought a new one. I still had problems. I called again and this time was told it was an ATT problem. Now I have two good modems and now have to pay $75 a year for another. This is way too much.. What line do you have ? ADSL, VDSL?

You can rent the modem or you can bring your own.
If you use your own but have not returned the one they are renting you, then you may still be charged for it.
You should call 611 and explain your issue with sonic rather than trying to get help from fellow members.

This type of situation is the primary purpose of the equipment rental platform here at Sonic: We want to provide stable and reliable service, from the Internet to the WiFi on the couch, with no unexpected costs. The vast majority of our members use Sonic equipment, and if we ever suspect the modem/router is at fault in a reliability situation, we ship a replacement unit immediately, at no cost. And if we have to dispatch a technician, there isn't a truck-roll fee - even if the issue is with the household wiring, because equipment rental includes any necessary home wiring maintenance or repair.

This means that you can always rely on Sonic to keep your internet access and WiFi working, with no finger-pointing, "maybe it's your equipment", etc.
