Let me explain: We have power, telephone, and Comcruft cable strung to our house from a pole on the opposite side of the street. The Comcruft cable is mounted lower than the others. Well, one day I was idly staring out the window getting ready for work when the garbage truck came by. It's one of those affairs with the Giant Robot Claw that reaches out, grabs the bin, yanks it way up in the air, dumps the contents into the truck, slams it back down on the ground, and moves on. (Stay with me; there's a point...)

So I watch the truck pull up, out comes the Giant Robot Claw, grabs our bin, yanks it up in the air... and whacks the Comcruft cable. Hard. Emptied into the truck, it lowers the bin, whacks the cable again, slams the bin back on the ground, and rolls on. How often this has been happening over the years, I have no idea, but it's probably worth noting that our cable TV signal is mostly garbage these days.

So... When the Magic Sonic Fiber Fairies arrive, I'd very much like them to install the fiber cable higher than that. Is that a note that can be passed to the crew?

Hello!

Our Fiber installer should be able to move the Fiber line higher if need be. Please bring this up to your installer when they arrive! They will work with you as best as we can!

Best Wishes!

Both times I had fiber installed (ATT & Sonic), they didn't pull the fiber cables into the house until the install appointment, which you have to be home for. Just let the tech know which hole you want the new cable passed through; or a new hole can be made too if you prefer.

Just a thought, but maybe you can place your cans in a different location, not directly under the wires? :D

If Sonic fiber is going live in your neighborhood and you have a specific request concerning the drop (the exterior fiber run, from the street to the house), ask Sonic customer service to schedule your drop for the same day as your install. That way, you can be there to make your request. Otherwise, the Magic Sonic Fiber Fairies will most likely do your drop at some unspecified date in advance of your install, as part of a neighborhood dropathon (drop-o-rama?) for all the soon-to-be Sonic fiber customers on your block.
