Minecraft not working over my internal access points

Hi,

I have Sonic fiber with the SmartRG 515AC. The wifi from the RG isn't very good in my house, so I have 3 hard-wired ASUS routers functioning as access points. Therefore, I have two different wifi networks, each with a 2.4 and 5 gHz, I'll call them S for Sonic and A for ASUS. Recently, my son's Minecraft stopped working on both the iPhone and iPad, while logged into his Microsoft account (which requires the Internet connection at all times, sadly), while using the internal wifi, A. If we put him on S or use his cellular coverage, it works fine. I have been trying to figure out whether there may be some firewall port restriction in the access points but I can't find any way to control that, and my impression is that APs don't do firewall anyway. I also can't seem to find the firewall settings for the Sonic RG, and while I would think that a restriction there would apply regardless of which wifi he was connected to, I suppose it's possible that the device could be blocking usage on the hardwired network but not the wifi, so I'd like to see what restrictions may be set up in the firewall... So...

Can any one help me figure out how to find the firewall settings in the RG menu?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem?

I fully realize that this may not be a Sonic problem at all...

You should be able to access the 515AC's firewall settings under the Advanced Setup section: https://www.lmi.net/wp-content/uploads/ ... l_v3_5.pdf

Regarding your Asus access points... are they set to DHCP or manually set with a different DNS server than the RG? Does Minecraft fail to work on both the 2.4G and 5G AP bands? What Minecraft error code(s) are displayed on the iPad/iPhone? Have you tried playing Minecraft from a different WiFi client (non-Apple/iOS) connected to those APs? What network, app or iOS settings may have been changed before the game stopped working? Perhaps the RG is filtering packets from the APs.

I don't have an RG and don't know anything about Minecraft but those are things I would look at initially... Doesn't hurt either to ensure the APs are updated with the latest firmware.
