spontaneous factory reset

This morning WiFi wasn't working, so I power-cycled the ATT 5268AC gateway. No luck--turns out it had done a factory reset (apparently) and forgotten the network name and password I'd set. The gateway is powered from an UPS, so there should not have been a power glitch. What's up with that?
