I have Fusion Fiber 1gbps but on wifi 2.4ghz at times is too slow around 17mbps upload/download even when there is no wall in between device and sr516ac (4 feet away)!
The SmartRG sr516ac could be the issue on 2.4ghz. 5ghz is faster around ~260mbps within 4 feet of the sr516ac.

Is there any setting I can adjust? I do not want to purchase/rent another router but I do have a Asis Rt-N66r N900 router. Please help!

Does seem slow, even for 2.4ghz WiFi-N. Could also be the client side.

You mentioned you were not interested in renting more equipment, but you could swap/upgrade the SmartRG for our new Eero mesh WiFi package. Those units are $8/ea for the pro base unit, and $4/ea for the beacons, so it's $12/mo to get started, just a little over the $9.50 you're paying for the SmartRG. The Eero brings more coverage due to its mesh capabilities. And I know it performs well!

Thanks for the reply so the $12/month for mesh (base unit + a beacon) can replace the SmartRG at $9.50/month? So $2.59/month more for stronger signal/coverage?

I am currently using my Asus router instead and get avg 50-60mbps download on 2.4ghz
