port forwarding on SR516ac with Sonic Fiber?

Greetings,
As mentioned, I'm trying to setup port forwarding; I suspect (possibly due to being a Fiber customer?) there is an additional network device somewhere between my router and the internet preventing me from doing so; if I try to visit my external IP in my browser, I get redirected to https://smartrg.sonic.net/prime-home/co ... D_REDACTED, which generates an auth error (without raising an auth dialogue).
