Smart/RG SR555ac modem

Hi I have a Smart/RG SR555ac modem that I'm trying to use on Sonic DSL.
I spoke with a very nice support gentleman and we were not able to get it working.
Basically he was able to see the modem sync'ed up good but it wouldn't grab an IP, he told me that it was stuck on getting an IP stage.
I was able to get into the configuration of the modem but since it's layout is so different than the ones for Sonic DSL he was not able to help me with what I need to change to get it working
Is there anyone on the forum that has experience with this model that can help me configure it for Sonic DSL?
This modem was purchased from Fairpoint which is an ISP out in WI.
