Well, finally after 7 attempts, it's up and running. Tech was super friendly and professional. Took about 4 hours in total to run the wire from my neighbors pole to my side of the yard, then to the side of my house. Drilled a hole and placed the ONT next to my PC and had spent some time configuring it before it got up and running, but speed wise it pretty much 940/940 down/up.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I had a 4 hour window for installation. No-show... and when I contacted tech support I got an unapologetic response saying how they found a problem with the drop the day before the installation was scheduled. But I should contact them if nobody fixes the drop by tomorrow and to reschedule the installation once the drop is fixed. That would have been nice to know there was a problem and to not wast my time sitting around for four hours waiting for the installation that wasn't going to happen. They sure we're good at reminding me to be ready for the installation in multiple text messages, but it was up to me to contact them as to why they never showed. Oh well, the good news is I won't have to be home for them to redo/fix the drop, but the bad news is I would also have to know what a fixed drop would look like we're I not home. As of now the drop looks like it did when the four or so technicians in almost as many vehicles left it a couple days ago and to reschedule the installation once the drop is fixed. Shouldn't they contact me when the drop is fixed. But how would I know what a functioning drop looks like compared to a non functional one. It's not like they left a note or said anything either time I talked to them (the drop crew). Well it's coming op on 24 hours past the time the installation should have been done by and still no sign of the drop being fixed or word from sonic about anything so I'll send them a text a little later tonight. I'll give them till 6 or so. Hopefully they inform me of any changes or updates without me having to contact them. But I have a feeling that won't be the case. Hopefully I'm wrong and they will update me of any news on the installation appointment they no call no showed for, and once done hopefully it won't be another 2 weeks to get an appointment for the installation once I am able to schedule one again. And if I'm lucky they are able to show up to that rescheduled appointment or at least let me know they weren't going to make it. Oh well my rant is over. Time for a drink or two and more waiting. Oh fyi, I am very handy especially with electronics and frequently fix sometimes broken devices to be shittier versions of what they originally were but functional none the less. I also have a ladder and lack a rational fear of electricity, so if there's a self install kit I'm down to give it a try.
