Daniel may have a point. I fear Sonic.net will get screwed over by AT&T's pseudo-fiber rollout, as neighborhood groups and organizations like SF Beautiful will have decreased tolerance for new utility boxes and will more vehemently appeal them as more get approved.
A primary problem is that SF's politicians and project approval process don't recognize the vast differences between these services. Whereas AT&T is switching over to fiber mainly so that it can phase out it's copper network (
