Moving from U-Verse to bonded Fusion

I currently have an order pending for bonded Fusion. My house has two pairs coming to it from the utility pole, one of which has AT&T U-Verse service. Will the Fusion order take up both of those pairs, killing U-Verse? Or is the Fusion order considered additional, causing AT&T to run another pair to my house?

I just wanted to know what to expect. I plan on dropping U-Verse anyway, so if the pair that it's on gets cut over to Fusion, that's fine by me. In that case, should I call AT&T to cancel, or does Sonic.net take care of that like if I was converting an AT&T POTS or ADSL line?

If you have two pairs coming in, one of which is in use by U-Verse, and one is unoccupied, your Fusion service will come up on the unoccupied pair and will need to be connected to your internal wiring to be of any use. If both pairs are occupied, a third pair would need to be delivered.

Trying to hijack your U-Verse pair would not do us much good, as that pair terminates at the U-Verse VRAD instead of the Central Office where we have our equipment.

John, he's getting bonded Fusion. He needs 2 pairs.

ah, the silliness that can result from missing a work in the opening sentence.

Another pair will be necessary.

To answer the other part - never cancel your current service, always wait for the new Sonic.net service delivery before even speaking with the current service provider.

If you cancel them middle of our process, it can interfere with service delivery, cut-over if applicable of the current pair, porting if applicable of the current number, etc.

Thanks for the follow ups. We'll see what happens on my install day (Tuesday). It'd be nice to get a new drop coming to the house anyway; I don't think my current one is twisted pair and from when I had Fusion a few months ago the speeds were low given my estimated distance to the CO.

Well, the day came and nobody came to install another line to my house. Apparently nobody knew that another pair needed to be run. So after some back and forth with Sonic.net tech support, an AT&T guy showed up at 8AM the next morning and spent half the day running a new 5-pair cable to our house in a better location (the old cable was strung through a lemon tree in our backyard) and did an awesome job. Kudos to him. I wish there was a way to officially commend him and the excellent work he did.
