Fiber inSTALLation is STALLED for months in Friendly Acres

I signed up for 10G fiber in December 2022 on Seventh Avenue in Menlo Park. Each month since then my street's "Fiber Live" date keeps being bumped to the next month. Several months ago there we many Sonic trucks in the neighborhood but they've now disappeared after leaving a BIG MESS of cabling on the poles at the end of the street. Getting a status or other explanation from Sonic Support has been impossible. Atherton Fiber could have us wired up in 3 days, but I really want Sonic. I understand there are other sign-ups experiencing this, too. What in the world is the hold up?

Reaching your neighborhood to finally interconnect the fiber we built there requires two underground crossings on Edison St. The process for obtaining the permits for those two crossings took five months of processing by the County and the water district.

We do now have the permit needed to complete the project, and will be doing the last underground road crossing in the next two weeks. Then some final splicing and test and we can activate the fiber and begin installations at homes there.

Thank you for the timely and detailed reply. Now it's clear — getting permits, especially around the Hatch Hetchy 70-inch water line which runs under our street, could be a nightmare. Glad it's moving along now!
